Meet the Director, Nicole
The DANCE Spot was founded with a passion for helping people feel confident, strong, and joyful through movement. Before bringing this vision to Hamilton, our founder spent 14 years as the owner and director of a successful dance studio in Sarasota, Florida. During that time, she built a thriving dance community, teaching students of all ages while specializing in creating fun, empowering classes for adults.
After years of being a Competitive Judge, dancing professionally, leading after-school dance programs, while watching children and adults rediscover their love of dance, build confidence, and improve their health through movement, she knew she wanted to bring that same opportunity to a new community.
Now in Hamilton, the mission is simple: create a welcoming space where EVERYONE can dance, get fit, and feel amazing—no matter their experience level. Many adults think they’ve “missed their chance” to dance, but The Dance Spot of Hamilton, GA is here to prove that it’s never too late to start.
With professional instruction, a supportive environment, and classes designed to be both fun and effective, The Dance Spot is proud to bring a fresh and exciting dance experience to the Hamilton, Georgia community.
My Story
My love for dance began at the age of three. From the moment I stepped into the studio, I knew dance would always be part of my life. As I grew, that passion only deepened and inspired me to share it with others.
At just 15 years old, I began teaching dance and quickly discovered how much I loved helping students grow in confidence, creativity, and skill. Not long after, I became the Assistant Director of an after-school dance program, where I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students, including children with disabilities. Those experiences helped shape my belief that dance should be accessible, welcoming, and empowering for everyone.With that vision in mind, I opened my own dance studio in Sarasota, Florida, where I spent 14 incredible years teaching, mentoring, and building a dance community.
Eventually, a new chapter called me to Hamilton, Georgia. It was here that I opened The Dance Spot, a place created to bring the joy of movement to both children and adults. My goal has always been to create a supportive environment where everyone—regardless of age or experience—can discover the confidence, joy, and freedom that dance brings.Dance has given me so much throughout my life, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to share that passion with my students and community.

Meet Instructor, Mrs. Tracie Poole
Tracie is a native of Hamilton, GA. She graduated from Harris County High School in 1998 and Columbus State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science.
Tracie began dancing at the age of 5 and has continued her training throughout her adult years. She began competing with Cottrell Dance Studio in Columbus at the age of 10, being one of the youngest competitors to represent the studio at that time. She competed through high school and into college.
During her years at Columbus State, she was a member of the dance team that won the conference championship two year in a row. She performed two years at the College Dance Team National Championships in Orlando, representing Columbus State.
Tracie has performed in the Nutcracker with the Moscow Russian Ballet, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and two Orange Bowls featuring Jon Secada and Gladys Knight. She has performed in The Nutcracker with the Columbus Ballet the past two years. She was an assistant and an Instructor at Cottrell Dance Studio during her high school and college years.
Tracie has been a pro dancer for the Alzheimer's Association's, Dance Stars of Columbus since 2018. This is an organization that is close to Tracie's heart since both of her grandmothers had Alzheimer's disease.
She is the former studio Director of Cottrell Dance Studio where she taught ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and lyrical, with a passion for tap. She is currently a student at the Drake School of Irish Dance/Celtic Traditions in Auburn, Alabama, where she learns soft-shoe and hard shoe Irish jigs and reels.
With over 40 years of dance and teaching experience, Tracie loves to introduce our younger generations to the world of dance, all while building confidence and skills that follow the dancer throughout their lives.
Tracie is married to Justin Poole and in the winter, they enjoy River Dragons hockey, where she is also an off ice official, and you may even catch them at an Auburn football game during the fall.
